What is the Anti-TPO Test?
Anti-TPO (Anti-Thyroid Peroxidase) antibodies are autoimmune markers that attack the thyroid gland. Their presence confirms autoimmune thyroid disease — the most common cause of both hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's) and hyperthyroidism (Graves'). Even if thyroid function is currently normal, positive Anti-TPO predicts future thyroid problems.
Why Should You Take This Test?
Confirms autoimmune cause of thyroid dysfunction. Important for prognosis and treatment decisions.
Who Should Get Tested?

Identifies if the cause is autoimmune.
Family History of Thyroid Disease
Predicts future thyroid problems.
