What is the CPK Total Test?
Total Creatine Phosphokinase (CPK) measures the overall level of the CPK enzyme in your blood. CPK is found in heart muscle, skeletal muscle, and brain. Elevated CPK indicates muscle damage somewhere in the body. The total CPK test helps detect conditions like heart attacks, muscle injuries, rhabdomyolysis, and muscular dystrophy.
